1. Information We Collect
We collect account information (email, name), trip planning parameters, GPS location data when you use our mobile app for navigation, and anonymized trail telemetry you choose to share with the community.
2. Location Data
GPS data is processed on-device for offline navigation. When connected, anonymized trail segments may be uploaded to improve AI route models. We never sell location data to third parties.
3. Satellite SOS Data
Premium SOS sync features transmit emergency coordinates only when you explicitly trigger an SOS alert. This data is shared with designated emergency contacts and rescue services.
4. Data Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting privacy@alaskahiking.ai.
